What is Silver Region?

We are the first multilateral fund focused on strengthening care services, preventing dependency, improving care and long-term care, empowering and training of caregivers and older people (over 60 years) in Latin America and the Caribbean . 

 

This is a program created by IDB Lab, the innovation and venture capital laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, together with the Arturo Sesana Foundation, IDRC and GRADE and the support of Latimpacto and Innpactia.

 

The call is aimed at organizations in the region that have innovative projects that involve technology as a central axis in the positive social impact of the elderly population (+60) and their caregivers. 

 

This will be the first of three calls for proposals; the other two will be launched in 2025.

What is the objective?

To strengthen care services, prevent dependency, improve care and long-term care, empower and train caregivers. 

Likewise, the final objective is to convert these efforts into a driver of social inclusion and economic recovery in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The proposals must focus on the vulnerable population of people over 60 years of age and must be implemented in one or more of the 26 borrowing member countries of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB):

Who is it aimed at?

  • Startups

  • Foundations/Non-profit Organizations

  • Corporations

  • Universities/Think Tanks

 

The requirement is to be formally constituted as legal entities in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a history of operations of at least one (1) year, and to have sales**

**There is no minimum of sales to apply. 

 

For those who want to participate and do not have at least one year of operations, you can prepare to apply for the next two (2) calls that will be launched in 2025.

What is the deadline for applications?
